Protect your workers, avoid costly incidents!
Each year in Australia thousands of workers are diagnosed as having noise-induced hearing loss. Exposure to excessive noise can also result in stress, fatigue, irritability and tinnitus or ringing in the ears.
Excessive noise destroys the delicate nerve cells in the inner ear which transmit sound messages to the brain.
When the nerve cells are damaged, they are replaced by scar tissue which does not respond to sound. This damage is permanent and generally happens with no physical sign or sensation of pain in the ear to show that damage is occurring.
This noise and hearing safety training video features:
- The various sources of excessive noise levels in workplaces.
- Reducing exposure to excessive noise.
