There are many types of personal protective equipment (PPE) that can be used to protect workers from the various hazards in their working environment. However, for the PPE to be effective, it is essential that the correct type is selected, is well-fitting, and is properly cleaned and maintained.

It is also important to note that since PPE does not, and cannot control the hazard at the source, before relying on PPE, you need to conduct a risk assessment to see what other controls can and should be used.
